For wood to perform well in Bangladesh’s climate, Seasoning and Chemical Treatment are extremely important. On this page we explain in simple terms — what, why, how, and how Kathuriya Timber does it.

What is Wood Seasoning?
Wood seasoning is the slow, controlled reduction of excess moisture inside the wood.

Why it is needed:

• Reduces warping of the wood
• Reduces splits and cracking
• Extends the life of doors and door frames

Kathuriya Recommended Moisture:
➡️ 12% – 18% (suitable for the Bangladesh climate)

What is Wood Treatment?
Wood treatment is a chemical process that protects wood from insects, borers, fungus, and decay.

What happens without treatment:

• White ant / termite attack
• The wood deteriorates from the inside
• Doors and door frames weaken quickly

Our seasoning process:

• Controlled Air Seasoning
• Drying time set according to thickness
• Proper stacking & airflow
• Regular moisture observation

Our treatment method:

• Boric + Borax based treatment
• Wood is kept in the solution for a set period
• Chemical penetration according to thickness
• Followed by drying & stabilization
