Mehgoni (Jessore) is one of the most widely used woods in Bangladesh. The tree grows fast, and thanks to the quality of its timber it is used extensively in furniture, doors, windows, and many kinds of construction work. Mehgoni wood is reddish brown in color, with a medium texture and good durability. It is among the most popular of the locally grown woods.
